Maps url/username to passwords, securely. Implementations may support persisting this mapping across sessions.

Method Summary

char[]	getPassword(String url, String username) Retrieve the password associated with the given url and username.
void	savePassword(String url, String username, char[] password) Map the given password to the given url and username.

Method Detail

savePassword

void savePassword(String url,
                  String username,
                  char[] password)

Map the given password to the given url and username.

Parameters:

url - The url for this saved password

username - The username for this saved password

password - The password to be saved

Throws:

KeyringException - to indicate password could not be saved due to an error

getPassword

char[] getPassword(String url,
                   String username)

Retrieve the password associated with the given url and username.

Parameters:

url - The url for the desired password

username - The username for the desired password

Returns:

The password mapped to the given url and username, if any. Null otherwise

Throws:

KeyringException - if error is encountered when attempting to retrieve password

clearPassword

void clearPassword(String url,
                   String username)

Clear the password associated with the given url and username, if any.

Parameters:

url - The url for the password to be cleared

username - The username for the password to be cleared

Throws:

KeyringException - if error is encountered when attempting to retrieve password
